Die Schuld ligt immer bei TramperIn. If a cyclist on a long descent loses control and so cannot control motion and falls over and then falls down and dies, he cannot blame the road for being dangerous. He had had to take more precaution. The Grundrisiko exists and needs to be kept in mind at all times. It is the risk of living. Of course one is free to think that a driver is the actual offender and this is 100% right in juridical point of view.

In my opinion it is not necessarily without risk to hitchhike as a female alone in a country like Turkey, and the wedding dress has presumably only increased the risks. Perhaps the wedding dress could be even a key factor in this case.

I understand the reasoning of Phine, and risk is pretty much person(ality) dependent. Risk is only in general higher among females than among males. "Hitch-hiking" by Rinvolucri states that - as I remember it by heart, hopefully still correct - his interviews showed that 3 out of 8 females had faced sexual conversations or harrasment versus 1 out of 8 among males.

Of course there are 17 year old females who run less risk than 38 year old males accompanied by bull terriers. But these are exceptions...
