Welcome to the website of the first German Autostop Society.

The clubs aim is to promote and to improve hitchhiking as a secure alternative way of traveling, in order to bring travelers and 'locals' in touch and increase intercultural understanding therewith. The club is happy to support hitchhiking related projects and to function for everyone as a platform for therefor.

We are happy to welcome non-German hitchhikers in our club. Unfortunately, up to now there is now English version of our homepage. It might be possible that there will be one in the near future. Please visit the English websites hitchwiki.org or digihitch.org (more American) for everything about hitchhiking, road travel and subCultural Movement in English language.
Nevertheless, you are invited to open up your own English travel blog and English forum topics on this webpage, and please do not forget to add your location on the hitchhikers' map. After signing up, it is possible to switch the navigation of the page to English.

Hitchhike Camp & Gathering
September 6th – 9th in Freiburg, Germany

Hitchhikers from all around the globe are invited to come to a meadow in Denzlingen near Freiburg am Breisgau for an action camp with discussion and practice of hitchhike relevant issues. It is a good opportunity to meet friends and/or to get know other hitchhikers.
